Garra Rufa (Doctor Fish)

The secret to beautiful feet is finally here!

The Garra Rufa or Doctor Fish are found in the river basins of the Northern and Central Middle East, mainly in Turkey, Syria, Iraq and Iran and can now be found at our salon in Old Hatfield, Hertfordshire! The Garra Rufa fish in Essence will be known as 'the boys' and are available to make your feet look and feel fabulous.

How do they do this?

The unique fish eat away dead skin using suction-shaped mouths, leaving your feet feeling soft and smooth.   The fish are like combfishes and only consume affected or dead areas of the skin, and they leave the healthy skin to grow.

Trust me once you have taken the plunge, the sensation of the ‘invasion’ of the fish as they swirl and tickle your foot feels utterly amazing,

And that’s not all! These wonderful fish secrete an enzyme called diathanol, which seems to improve skin regeneration.  So imagine a world with no more costly creams or products to get that smooth soft skin you’ve always wanted.

We are very excited to be one of the very few salons in Hertfordshire, which offer this exciting new treatment.  It is totally safe and hygienic for the fishes and the customers, and we really believe ‘the boys’ will be able to help anyone who suffers with skin conditions such as eczema and psoriasis.  We cannot guarantee them as a cure to skin conditions but firmly believe they can temporarily alleviate symptoms and clients should return regularly to keep up the treatment.
